Job costing in Hourvy, in short
Hourvy's job costing lets owners create jobs with an optional client name and budget hours, and workers choose a job when they clock in on their phone or at a kiosk. Workers can switch jobs mid-shift, which ends their time on the first job and starts it on the next. The Jobs page shows hours, labor cost and number of workers for each job over any dates, with a budget bar that turns amber past 80% and red when over budget.

Switch jobs without clocking out
Workers pick another job and tap Switch. Hourvy ends time on the first job and starts the next one.
Make it required
Turn on Workers must pick a job to clock in, so no hour goes uncosted.
Real labor cost
Hours times the rate each shift was actually paid at, including role rates.
Archive, don't delete
Finished jobs can be archived. Workers can't pick them, but the hours stay in your reports.
Up and running in three steps
- Tick Jobs in Settings → Optional features.
- Open Jobs, click Add job, and add a client and budget hours if you like.
- Workers choose the job when they clock in, on their phone or at the kiosk.
Optional features are off until you switch them on, and are included in the price either way.
Good to know
- Labor cost on the Jobs page is shown before overtime. Overtime still counts all of a worker's hours for the week together.

Can workers switch jobs in the middle of a shift?
Yes. While clocked in, a worker picks another job and taps Switch. Hourvy ends their time on the first job and starts a new shift on the next one.
Can I set a budget for a job?
Yes. Add budget hours to a job and the Jobs page shows how much has been used. The bar turns amber past 80% and red over budget.
Does job costing cost extra?
No. Every Hourvy feature, including job costing, is included in the per-seat price. Switch it on in Settings.
