Employee scheduling in Hourvy, in short
Hourvy's week-by-week scheduler lets owners build shifts as drafts, fill the week from each worker's usual schedule or copy last week, and drag shifts between people and days. Publishing emails every worker their shifts. Owners can post open shifts that the first worker to tap Pick up gets, workers can swap shifts with coworkers (with owner approval) and mark when they're unavailable, and the schedule shows estimated hours and labor cost for each day.
Drag, drop, publish. Your team gets their shifts by email.
Fill a week in one click
Use Fill from weekly schedules to add everyone's usual shifts, or Copy last week, then adjust what changed.
Drag to move, Alt-drag to copy
Move a shift to another person or day, or drop it in the Open shifts row so anyone can pick it up.
Drafts stay private
Workers only see shifts once you publish, and each one gets an email listing their week. Change a published shift and only the people affected are emailed.
Open shifts fill themselves
Post a shift nobody has yet. The first worker to tap Pick up gets it, and you get an email saying who.
Swaps without the group chat
A worker offers a shift, a coworker accepts, you approve. Hourvy checks again for clashes before the swap goes through.
No double-booking
Hourvy won't let you give someone two shifts at the same time, and turns a shift amber when the worker is on time off or unavailable.
Know the cost before you publish
Scheduled hours and estimated labor cost show for each day and for the whole week.
Reminders before every shift
Optionally, email each worker a reminder an hour before their shift starts.
Up and running in three steps
- Tick Week-by-week schedule in Settings → Optional features.
- Open Schedule and add shifts with +, Fill from weekly schedules or Copy last week, then drag to adjust.
- Click Publish. Every worker with shifts that week gets an email.
Optional features are off until you switch them on, and are included in the price either way.
Good to know
- Pay always comes from the hours workers actually clock, never from the schedule.
- Labor cost estimates on the schedule don't include overtime premiums.
- Drag and drop works on a computer. On a phone, tap a shift to change its worker or day.

How do workers find out about their schedule?
When you publish a week, every worker with shifts gets an email listing them, and the shifts appear on their schedule in the app. Changes to published shifts are emailed to the workers affected.
Can workers swap shifts or pick up extra ones?
Yes. Workers can offer a published shift to a coworker. Once the coworker accepts, you approve or decline the swap. Open shifts go to the first worker who taps Pick up.
Can I see labor cost while I build the schedule?
Yes. The schedule shows scheduled hours and an estimated cost for each day and for the week, based on each worker's rate (before overtime).
